This was a recent post from Team Kubboom. They are hosting the Pre-Championship on June 28th in Eau Claire.
Here is the link for The Pre.
It’s time to get serious about the 2015 U.S. National Kubb Championship! http://www.usakubb.org/.
And what better way to do that than to spend a quality kubb filled weekend in the Kubb Capital of America, home of the largest North American kubb tournament, Eau Claire, WI. The weekend kicks off when YOU arrive in town Saturday (June 27th) morning or better yet Friday night. Take a leisurely tour of the Championship grounds and then head to the Lazy Monk tap room http://www.lazymonkbrewing.com/ at 2pm for the Live Draw to see who you will be matched up against in two weeks. After the Live Draw there will be a potluck gathering in the East Hill which has become known as the Friends of Hogeboom Block Party. Usually it involves a bouncy house, food, drink, blocked off street and some kubb. After all that excitement things will only get better when you attend the 2nd annual Pre-Nationals kubb tournament on Sunday June 28th.
Start time: 9 am
Location: Eau Claire Soccer Fields (same location as Nationals)
Team Size : 2 player minimum
Rules will be the same as Nationals with one exception. Due to this being a warm up to the National Championship which is a minimum 3 person team tournament we thought it would be fun to throw in a rule that would better replicate play in the Nationals. The rule is simply no one player can throw more than 2 batons in a row. So we will give it a try and welcome any feedback from players after the tournament.
We will also be using the 2 – 4 – 6 start.
Cost is a meager – $free
To register, email your team name, number of players, and city to Pat Klages at pklages1[at]gmail.com.
